Nemam Ghafouri dedicated her life to the cause of humanitarianism. The constant, in everything she did, was a belief in listening to the oppressed, in never speaking over but instead raising awareness about their experiences and helping them achieve their needs and dreams. To everyone who doubted she said “of course we can move mountains!”

The Nemam Ghafouri Fund was started by friends, colleagues and family members of Nemam who are determined to continue her legacy.

We support projects that promote vulnerable people's rights, health, education, autonomy and empowerment.

“Vulnerable people” refers to groups of individuals who have been marginalized on account of their gender, ethnicity, culture, religion or socio-economic status.

The fund can support both ongoing and new projects aimed at strengthening the target group’s role in society.

The Nemam Ghafouri Memorial Fund is supported by donations from members of the public.

The fund is a registered charitable foundation in Sweden (official name Insamlingsstiftelse Nemam Ghafouris Minnesfond) under the supervision of the Stockholm County Administrative Board, with organisation number 802482-2804.

The Foundation is governed by its regulations and founding charter.
